Káva Drama/Theatre in Education Association = A Résztvevő Színháza – ARS (The Participant’s Theatre)
Káva Drama/Theatre in Education Association plays an active role in forming the society, building audiences and establishing community dialogue – using participatory theatre performances designed for kids, teenagers and adults. The method is based on the toolkit of drama and theatre. In their performances, the audience is an active, thinking and acting participant, and the focal point is the spectator/participant. The theatre’s role is to give a sharp view of dramatic situations that need to be talked about, cannot be ignored, and to encourage the audience to express their opinion.
Káva actively seeks professional challenges where artists from different art forms work in collaboration, create new knowledge, and where they can share practical experience of the past 20 years. Káva often works with international partners and their participative theatre and civil project management experiences are valued. They enjoy working together with artists and teams interested in social problems and developing art tools to engage close or wider audiences.
Káva believes that their knowledge of participative theatre is a useful societal activity, where participants use their human qualities, which qualities are becoming more and more important nowadays.
