WHAT IS MYLUMU?
In 2024, the Ludwig Museum launched its web application for the reception of exhibitions, including a virtual assistant, Mona. In the exhibition spaces, extra content that can be called up with a QR code is displayed next to each artwork, and some artworks are even accompanied by a game! The answers to the game will be displayed outside the exhibition space in the form of data visualisations created by contemporary artists. MyLUMU was designed by Viktória Barcsi.
WHO IS MONA?
MyLUMU not only features extra content related to the works, but also Mona, the museum's virtual assistant, who can be contacted via text chat to ask questions about the exhibition. Mona also reads the texts in MyLUMU, making the exhibition accessible. Mona's cheerful, dancing figure is also available as an Instagram filter on the Museum's Instagram page. Mona's figure was created by media artist Mona Birkás, and was modelled on herself at the Museum's request.
WHAT IS THIS PAGE?
MyLUMU is now available from the comfort of your home to make it easier to explore the exhibitions at home. Information material displayed alongside the artworks is complemented by extra content (videos, interviews, transcripts). Accessing the artefact texts at home can be important for parents who want to discuss the experience with their child after a museum visit, or it can be an excellent tool for teachers before and after a visit with a group.
