Horrors without Frontiers

Paul Morrisey: Blood for Dracula

The Invisible Film Club shows film masterpieces little known in Hungary or long forgotten: underground classics of today and yesterday, avant garde, abstract films, bizarre “B-movies”, magical-mystical and psychedelic wonders of the moving image, “metafilms”, cult film horrors, or works which go beyond themselves to embody some kind of vision. We set out to present to the audience films which have been left out of cinema circulation or have only recently been reconstructed.

For the Horrors Without Frontiers series, we have selected non-mainstream independent and underground horror film classics from Asia to Europe, free of the clichés of the American dream factory. Some of them are pioneering work, opening up new routes into far-flung regions of culture, delving into that delirium of reality which raises the medium of physical horror to a genre, an allegory, or even a fetish; and speaking of the ubiquitous traditional human taboos rooted in comparable myths found everywhere from India to Japan, Greece to Mexico, South Africa to Spain.

Most of the films feature scenes liable to disturb. Everybody watches at their own risk! For over-18s only! The films are shown as informative screenings. They are screened from DVD. We reserve the right to change the programme.
