The film "Art of the Encounter" (2022, Switzerland) will celebrate its Budapest premiere at Ludwig Múzeum, accompanied by a talk with its director, performance artist Marinka Limat.
«Art of the Encounter» is the cinematic testimony of Swiss performance artist Marinka Limat, presented at Ludwig Múzeum on 7 December 2022 at 6pm. The experimental documentary is about her art walk on foot from Kassel to Athens in 2017. On this journey through Europe, Marinka Limat passed by also at Ludwig Múzeum on 15 June 2017. Five years later, she now brings back her experiences on the road transformed into a unique artistic expression to share.
The screening will be followed by an artist talk with Hungarian journalist Judit Jankó.
Admission is free of charge, but registration is required. 
About the film:
On the road through Europe, Marinka Limat is collecting encounters, involving people she never met before. Each encounter is unique and different. They do not repeat. Precious moments to be carried along with care. Certain encounters do not work, others are missed, and sometimes avoiding an encounter is the better option. Learning form the in between, Limat is unfolding her practice of encountering in front of our eyes. About the artist: Marinka Limat (*1983) is putting a focus on the in-between. In the name of art, she travels long distances ("Art Pilgrimage", 2013-17), creating works of different media from the research on the road.
The film will be presented with Hungarian subtitles.
