Youth, friendship, freedom - teenagers of the GDR in the middle of the 1980s using their skateboards to break away from the restraining rules

"Sure, we were an attraction - comments the speaker with a Berliner's accent on the flickering pictures shot with a super-8 camera. - People didn't know what to think of us. In the East you always had to pursue some kind of a goal. You work: So you can buy something to eat. You eat: For nourishment, You walk: To get somewhere. What we were doing didn't make sense, and that had people perplexed."

The film was directed by Marten Persiel.
