In the third and most recent self-portrait (2017), a modern earpiece hanging from the artist’s mouth resembles the shape of a woman’s ovaries. The female reproductive organ, combined with the hi-tech gadget, evokes further associations: natural-artificial, reception versus reproduction, transmitter-receiver. The technological achievement, combined with the biological body, which is already ageing here, gives us an opportunity to reflect on the possible future of the human body (implants, cyborgs), as well as on a woman who deals with her own biological destiny, her bodily determination in her works.
