Lumu Special
Behind closed doors

The Ludwig Museum is closed between October 28 and November 17, 2007.
During this period all three floors of the museum will be remodeled, so as to prepare the building for showcasing the biggest and most complete exhibition of the Ludwig Collection ever.
It is highly unusual for a museum to be open to visitors in this rather “helpless” state, while its halls and spaces are being rebuilt.
We are opening the museum on All Saints’ Day, whishing to enrich the programs in connection with the various customs, folklore and mythologies different cultures attach to this holiday. We are hosting Maladype Company, one of the most interesting Hungarian theatrical formations.

Maladype Theatre performs
Acropolis by Stanislaw Wyspianski

Director: Sándor Zsótér (Act I-II.) / Zoltán Balázs (Act III.)
Composer: László Sáry
Translated by: Vince Hajba

Maladype is one of the most prominent formations of present day Hungarian fringe theatre. The company that started to perform in 2001, and that is without a permanent and independent venue of its own to this day, presents pieces that are absolutely novel in Hungary’s theatre scene. For this very unique occasion, they are reinterpreting their rhythmical-ritual play Acropolis with a brand new cast. Ágens is debuting as King David.
