Ludwig Museum is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its foundation in 2019. The first public collection behind the former iron curtain, initiated by Peter and Irene Ludwig and founded in 1989, was the first contemporary museum in Hungary. During the last three decades, the museum hosted hundreds of exhibitions and more than a thousand programs, but the main target remained the same from the beginning: bringing contemporary art closer to the visitors and making it easier to understand in an exciting and new way.
On the occasion of the anniversary, there will be an extraordinary series of exhibitions and programs presenting the history, present and future of the museum. Four smaller in-line exhibitions will be displayed in two weeks terms, and film screenings, presentations, special concerts and exclusive programs will be presented as well.
