27. May, 1999 – 27. June

The exhibition shows the works of thirty Italian artists, and it is the result of collaboration between the Museum and the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, as well as Trieste Contemporanea, an organisation supported by the city of Trieste. Regarding the exhibition, the two curators, Giuliana Carbi and Lorenzo Michelli, have said: "The three institutions: C3: Center for Culture & Communication, the Műcsarnok (Kunsthalle Budapest) and the Museum of Contemporary Art - Ludwig Museum Budapest bought a 'return ticket' last year when they brought the exhibition entitled Nice Time to Trieste, and they offered us a return ticket to come to Budapest and to make an exhibition with the title Fine Weather. This is a sort of international cooperation, which offers us an opportunity to present the art of our country." The title of this exhibition is related to the title of the exciting Hungarian show, and it means "weather", not "time" (in Hungarian, the word 'idő' means both 'time' and 'weather'). We intend to refer to the power of the sun at noon, which is so well known and appreciated by travellers to Italy. Fine Weather is a selection of artworks made by Italian artists. The works of several famous artists are included, such as Sauro Cardinali from Perugia, Tiziano Campi from Liguria, Riccardo de Marchi, and Olinsky (pseudonym of an artist living in Milan). Trieste Contemporanea also attempts to demonstrate the rich art-life of the region Friuli-Venezia. Thus, with the assistance of a young critic from Trieste, Lorenzo Michelli, who helped us with the selection, the works from Northeastern Italy are given high priority. These are young artists whose works are up-to-date, but which are also visible at the most significant Italian art events.
