Endre Tót was born in Sümeg in 1937 and has been based in Germany since 1978. Between 1959 and 1965, he studied murals at the Academy of Applied Arts in Budapest and got engaged with informel painting. His work in the 1960s was associated with Pop Art, collage. He stopped painting in the early 1970s and started his groundbreaking experimental work with typewriters, mail art, Xerox, graffiti, and actions, among others. His signature works are the Zero and the TOTalJOYs series
