Andrej Medvegyev

(Leningrád, 1957 – Szentpétervár, 2010)

In 1983 he graduated from textile department of Vera Mukhina Academy of Art and Industry. Since 1983 he participated in the New Artists exhibitions. He was a member of Mayakovsky Friends club, the designer of the first raves (Gagarin party, and Mobile party, Moscow). He went in for painting, graphics, collages and photography. Since 1993 he was a professor of NAFA drawing department and one of the leaders of the New Serious movement. He investigated North-South axle together with Oleg Kotelnikov (the book and the exhibition in Arctic and Antarctic Museum). In 1997 he made a new design of Griboedov club. His works are in the State Russian Museum collection.
