Teppei Kaneuji

(Kiotó / Kyoto, 1978 – )

In his playful-looking assemblages, Teppei Kaneuji transforms everyday objects that have become unnecessary and wasteful due to overconsumption into compositions. His colourful, amorphous, distorted sculptures, inspired by Japanese manga, are created using the hair of plastic toy figures. The formal conciseness of the works overwhelms the viewer with information in a similar way to overproduction.
