Dreamscapes

Rafael Y. Herman looks for alternative realities of a landscape in the darkness that we normally cannot perceive with our eyes but only the mind’s eye can see. Together we kids we discover what happens when we close our eyes? When we go to sleep in the complete darkness we start to see other world. The world that is inside us. Inspired by landscapes/ dreamscapes from Rafael Y. Herman images we talk about kids dreaming experiences.

ACTIVITY: Puppet theater

To enhance visual inspiration and associations, together with kids we create sounds to accompany Rafael Y. Herman landscapes, and compere the sounds in the daytime and nighttime. We talk about animals that could live in those landscapes during the day and night. Together with kids we create story inspired by landscapes from Rafael Y. Herman images and engage in a fun shadow play.

SKILLS PRACTICED: Puppets theater offers engaging way for kids to develop creative skills by using their imagination, develop oral language skills and communication. Role-play can help to support social/emotional development, and also help children learn and understand the world around them through imaginative play.
