Born 1956 in Rumburk (The Czech Republic), Jiří David studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Between 1987 and 1991 he was a member of the art group, Tvrdohlaví. Between 1995 and 2004 he was the director of the Visual Communications Studio, and from 2004 the director of the Intermedia Studio, at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. The majority of his solo shows have been organised in Prague and Brno, and since the 1980s he has taken part in numerous international exhibitions. He lives and works in Prague.
