John Wood and Paul Harrison have worked together since 1993, producing video works for single screen and installation. They presented their joint work for the first time at the Mediawave Festival in Győr in 1993, and their first solo show was also held in Hungary, at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Dunaújváros, in 1998. Their works have been widely shown at exhibitions both in Britain and internationally, and are included in the collections of the London Tate, the New York MOMA, and the Paris Centre Pompidou. The Budapest Ludwig Museum presented their solo exhibition, “Five Rooms”, in 2006.
John Wood was born in Hong Kong in 1969; lives and works in Bristol.
Paul Harrison was born in Wolverhampton in 1966; lives and works in Bristol and Wolverhampton.

The characteristic features of Wood and Harrison’s earlier works were their use of a fixed camera, the artists’ own presence in the work, and a lucid, minimalist aesthetics of the sets, all marking their connection to the early video works of Burden, Acconci and Abramović.
