Gábor Bódy

(Budapest, 1946 – Budapest, 1985)

Gábor Bódy was a filmmaker, born in Budapest in 1946. He studied philosophy and history at the Eötvös Loránd University (1964–1971) and later film and TV directing at the Academy of Drama and Film (1971-1975). He became a member of the Béla Balázs Studio in 1971. He founded INFERMENTAL, the world’s first VHS periodical, with his wife, Vera (Baksa-Soós) Bódy and others in 1980. In 1982, he received a DAAD Scholarship to work in Berlin and teach at the German Film and TV Academy (DFFB). He died on October 24, 1985 in Budapest.
